Our Favourite Patios In Roncesvalles This Summer
Summer afternoons in the neighbourhood tend to end up on a patio. The moment the weather warms, Roncesvalles’ tree-lined main strip turns into a string of sun-soaked tables, with neighbours catching up over a long lunch or a midday coffee before continuing on with their day. Living in Roncesvalles means that rhythm is never far off, whether you’re after a full meal, a glass of wine in the sun, or just a quiet spot to watch Roncesvalles Avenue go by. The patios in Roncesvalles this summer make it easy to slow down. Here are our favourites to check out.
Bandit Brewery
If you’re closer to the north end of the strip, we highly recommend you stop in at Bandit Brewery. This one stop shop has an amazing patio that is first come first served. This micro-brewery in the heart of Roncy has a patio reminiscent of a German beer garden with many wooden tables, trees and cute patio lights. Order up a labneh crostini and a glass of their Mr. Pink Watermelon Pale ale and soak up the sun!
Bandit Brewery is at 2125 Dundas West
Proper
Proper is a New York Italian spot on Roncesvalles Avenue, with two patios to choose from. Out front, a CafeTO patio puts you right in the street-level buzz of Roncesvalles Avenue. Around back, a private backyard patio offers something quieter: an intimate, colour-filled space with an elegant feel, ideal for a glass of wine or a plate of pasta on a warm evening. The scratch kitchen menu leans into Italian classics with New York energy, served up in a room done out in velvet banquettes and marble tables. It’s more of a sit-down dinner destination than a casual drop-in, so worth booking ahead.
Find Proper at 392 Roncesvalles Ave

Loons Pub
This massive patio, possibly the largest of the patios in Roncesvalles, has a real classic Toronto patio vibe. With tons of space, mismatched furniture, and flower baskets, Loons is the place to go for a laid-back after-work drink with friends. Try to snag one of the Muskoka chairs under the big shade tree and treat yourself to a pint of craft beer and a basket of fries. Nice way to end the day.
Loons Pub is at 416 Roncesvalles Ave
Inter Steer Tavern
A Roncy staple, The Inter Steer Tavern is a must! With their CaféTO patio digs out front, this is the spot for people watching on Roncy. Serving up a very on brand menu of Polish, Danish, Swedish and Scandinavian fare, The Inter Steer never disappoints. Order up a large bottle of Zywiec, some pickled eggs, a plate of pierogi and sit back and watch the Roncy world go by, just like a real local.
The Inter Steer Tavern is at 357 Roncesvalles Ave
