Snapper’s Fish Market
This is our go-to place for the freshest fish and seafood in the west end. With a focus on sustainability and truly knowing where their products are coming from picking up a filet at Snapper’s is not only delicious, but environmentally responsible. Max’s Market
A family run, Bloor West Village staple since 1999, Max’s Market offers an amazing selection of prepared foods and packaged goods. Step inside and drool over the incredible selection available. We love to pop in here for a lunch on the go or even a fancy dinner ready to plate as soon as we get home. Max’s is available for catering, gift baskets and occasionally has special menus for certain holidays. All their baked goods are made in house daily, and they also carry Gryfe’s bagels – while supplies last!

Bloor Meat Market
In operation since 1929, this family owned and operated butcher provides an authentic butcher shop experience. The staff here really know their stuff and will help you select the right cut for your needs. They also happily do custom cuts for all your fancy recipes. Another responsible merchant in our neighbourhood, Bloor Meat Market proudly serves Prince Edward Island certified naturally raised beef as well as Mennonite raised free-range chickens. In addition to being a stellar butcher shop, Bloor Meat Market has been involved in the community here for as long as we can remember. Giving back wherever they can, including sponsoring High Park FC.

The Cheese Boutique
Ah! The Cheese Boutique, let us count the ways! This Toronto staple is an absolute must-see, for the Le Creuset selection alone! We love all the businesses in our neighbourhood but the Cheese Boutique holds a special place in our hearts. Opening its doors in 1970, The Cheese Boutique is one of the world’s best cheese shops. Family run and operated for nearly 4 generations the amount of knowledge is astounding. With an unrivalled selection of cheeses, prepared foods, and charcuterie meats, this place is a one stop shop for all your cocktail party needs. We also love to stop in here to grab one of their famous prosciutto sandwiches and a coffee to go when we’re on the go. Recently expanded, The Cheese Boutique now takes up half the block and has a take away counter, a cookware shop and the main store its famous for. It also has plenty of parking, making it an easy stop on the way home from your day, or even the beginning of your day. Check out the Cheese Vault while you’re there.

Another butcher shop that makes our list is Butcher By Nature. Three generations of butcher shop knowledge comes together in this lovely little shop. Passed on from Grandfather, father and son, this Italian family butcher shop offers exceptionally high quality cuts of meat. All of their products are locally sourced and traditionally raised with no antibiotics or hormones. They also offer an assortment of ready made foods, all prepared in-house.
