Where Do You Buy A Bike In The West End?
Now that the snow has finally melted, its time to dust off and pump up those bikes! If you don’t have a bike, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with out list of some of the best bike shops in the west end.
Have a bike in need of some TLC? read on and find out where you can get a quick tune up in time for a weekend ride with the family. With so many bike lanes connecting the west end, it’s becoming even safer and definitely easier to travel the city by bike.

West Side Cycle
Owned and operated by Roncy local William Martinen, West Side Cycle has been a staple on Roncy since 2004. This is your go-to place for bike repairs and bike accessories. In their own words: “The team at WSC are highly attentive to the needs of locals, women, families and professionals and they enjoy servicing all levels of bike repairs especially “moms and pops” and people who just want to hop on their bike and ride.” Who doesn’t want to just hop on their bike and ride on a beautiful sunny Toronto day? Dig your bike out of storage and take it in to West Side Cycle for a quick tune up and off you go!

Sweet Pete’s Bike Shop
Named after the owner’s dog, Pete! Sweet Pete’s has been voted Best Bike Shop and best E-bike retailer in Toronto in the 2021 NOW Reader’s Choice awards. Pete’s sells every type of bike imaginable from cruisers, to fat bikes to e-bikes, this place has you covered. Their website is one of the most extensive sites around with an entire section dedicated to guides. Guides on how to buy a bike, what kind of clothes you might need, commuting bikes vs. cruising bikes, helmet guides and gear guides, they truly have thought of everything. This expertise extends beyond their website though. Stop in and talk to one of the many knowledgeable staff and get yourself geared up for the upcoming riding season.
Sweet Pete’s Bike Shop is located at 1204 Bloor St, West right at the corner of Bloor and Brock. They also have an Annex location.

Ride Away Bikes
Ride Away Bikes sells new and used bikes, parts and accessories. With a very knowledgeable staff this is great place to pick up a refurbished bike for you or the little ones and learn a thing or two about riding and bicycle maintenance. They have plenty of bikes for all riding levels and styles. If you’re new to cycling, this is a great place to start without spending too much money on a fancy new bike. They have an excellent selection of new and used kids bikes as well. Stop in and say hello. The staff here are all bike enthusiasts who really want to help you experience the joys of safely cycling in the city. Don’t forget to pick up lights and a loud bell while you’re there!

Brockton Cyclery
This very cool bike shop located at the intersection of Dundas West and Brock has a varied selection of bikes you really don’t see at many other bike shops across the city. With brands like Fuji, Breezer and Curve, Brockton Cyclery stands out from the rest. In addition to some very stylish, trendy bike offerings, they also have a great selection of children’s bikes (with training wheels!) gear and accessories. Like any good bike shop worth its salt, the back of the shop is where they have their highly skilled bike mechanics at your service.

Blacksmith Cycle
Blacksmith is a cooler than cool bike shop located right on Sauroren Ave. This is the most serious bike shop on our list by far. Offering up a great selection of amazing bikes, gear and accessories, this is the place to go if you’re an avid cyclist looking to take your riding to the next level. The staff here are all passionate about their craft and it shows. Take advantage of their bike fitting service and build yourself a custom bike, or customize your current bike with some of the latest in bike accessories. Bonus, Blacksmith also has some very cool proprietary merch available in their gorgeous shop.

Newson’s Bike and Skate Exchange
Last but not least, our Newson’s Bike and Skate exchange. In business since 1931, offering up something a little different with the inclusion of ice skate services. Pop in here to get your skates sharpened, exchanged or tuned up, yes even skates need a tune up now and then. Newson’s is the place to go in Bloor West Village for bike repair, bike exchange or even a sparkly new bike. A service Newson’s offers that no other bike stores on our list do, is their vintage bike rental. They have a nostalgic collection of vintage bikes from the 1950’s through to the 1980’s.
