As Toronto’s pandemic restrictions are (slowly!!!) starting to lift and many of our favourite local businesses will open their doors once again, we’re getting increasingly excited to see many familiar faces around the west end again.

One thing we’re very much looking forward to being able to do again is visit all of our favourite spots for breakfast in Roncesvalles. At the Nested Real Estate team, our busy schedules mean we’re usually up and out the door early. So, when we do get the chance to have the most important meal of the day, we like to do it well.

With such a wide variety of delicious places to enjoy a great breakfast in Roncesvalles, we could visit a different place every day of the week. And if you, like us, like to start your day off in style, then take a look through our list below highlighting our favourite places to grab a great breakfast in Roncesvalles here.

AM Bagel

Easily our favourite bagel place in the entire west end, AM Bagel captured our hungry hearts a long time ago. This quaint little restaurant located at 53 Roncesvalles Avenue, just a few blocks north of Queen Street, is one of our favourite spots for breakfast in Roncesvalles.

We love popping in early on a weekend morning and grabbing a few of our favourite bagels and bagel sandwiches to start our weekend off right. With tons of different bagels, spreads (including vegan cream cheese), and fillings to choose from, you’ll be sure to find your favourite here.

Stop in and grab yourself your favourite bagel (or three) from 8 a.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 9 a.m. on weekends.

The Gold Standard

When it comes to breakfast sandwiches, the gold standard is, well, The Gold Standard. This adorable little hole in the wall (seriously, it’s a walk-up window) serves up the most delicious breakfast sandwiches in the west end by far. Choose between the up-scaled classic bacon, egg, and cheese option, or get their fully vegan sandwich.

These life-saving breakfast beauties even come wrapped in gold-coloured tin foil, which is a testament to their attention to detail and fun service. Ahead of your next breakfast in Roncesvalles, you really need to check out this quaint little place.

Give them a visit any day of the week at 385 Roncesvalles Avenue from 9 a.m. for your perfect grab-and-go breakfast in Roncy.

Cherry Bomb Coffee

While technically more of a coffee shop, Cherry Bomb Coffee almost always has a lineup of hungry customers looking to get one of the west end’s best croissants early every morning.

Known for their superb coffee and delicious baked goods, Cherry Bomb is a Roncesvalles favourite when it comes to early morning eats, and it’s easy to see why. Pair some of the city’s best coffee with their cookies, scones, or signature almond or classic croissants and you’ll be ready for whatever your day throws at you.

Stop by and taste one of those trademark croissants for yourself at 79 Roncesvalles Avenue, open from 7:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. on weekends.

Easy Restaurant

Located at the intersection of Queen Street and Roncesvalles Avenue at the very foot of Roncy, Easy Restaurant blurs the lines between what is considered Parkdale and Roncesvalles. What isn’t difficult to distinguish, however, is how good their breakfast is.

If you love more traditional breakfast dishes but want to take your diner experience up a notch, then Easy Restaurant should be next on your breakfast in Roncesvalles list. Look for classics like Brioche French Toast, Eggs Benny, and their signature Huevos Divorciados, all stylishly served up inside their vintage-inspired diner.

When their doors officially reopen, stop by Easy Restaurant at 1645 Queen Street West from 9 a.m. for breakfast any day of the week.

The Ace

Since The 1950s, The Ace restaurant has been a much loved neighbourhood diner with casual food and a casual vibe. This Roncy long-timer was recently revamped by new owners who acknowledge the history of The Ace and intent to preserve it. They revamped the menu and the quality of the food, offering classic dishes and ensuing everything that hits the table is made in house. If you’re into a family friendly vibe with upscale food, this classic-style diner is the perfect place for you to grab breakfast, brunch or dinner.

The Ace is located in the heart of Roncy (Roncesvalles Ave, near High Park Boulevard), the ideal spot to grab a bite followed by a casual stroll on the shopping strip or walk through High Park.
