EPISODE #1 – Welcome To Reverse Research.

What does Reverse Research really mean? Pre-COVID the home search process would go something like this: Buyers would see a home on the internet if it looked interesting they would call their agent and book a showing or go check it out at a weekend open house. This is no longer a reality. To make sure we are doing our best to physically distance we need to keep in-person showings to an absolute minimum. So how can we do this when seeing a home in person has been such an integral part of the home buying process?

This is where Reverse Research comes in.

We are telling our clients to work the process in reverse. Instead of making an in-person showing one of the first steps, do all your online research first. Firstly make sure your financing is in place before you start shopping for a home ( this is always a must! Covid or not). When you see a home that you like, review the virtual tour and floor plans in detail. Next, read the pre-list home inspection, make sure there are no red flags here. Also, walk the neighbourhood and check out the home from the outside and evaluate whether this home really suites your needs. Do you like the proximity to shopping, is this house located in the right school district, is it close to transit, etc. If all these details point to yes – Book a virtual showing with us (more on exactly what that is that later in the series! ) If it still looks like a contender. Let’s go ahead and book as socially distanced showing!
